Our client is located in Stockton, CA.  We are seeking to immediately hire Grounds Maintenance Personnel for our University Park location in Stockton.

Grupe Commercial offers fully-integrated services include property management, leasing, redevelopment, construction management and consulting. We currently manage and lease over two million square feet of retail and office properties in Northern California.

Job Description

University Park is centrally located in California’s Central Valley on 102 acres in midtown Stockton at California Street and Harding Way. Designated as a national historic site, University Park's primary land use is education with the California State University, Stanislaus-Stockton Center at its core surrounded by office, medical and residential uses.

Job Description

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of grounds.
  • Responsible for physical appearance of grounds.
  • Mowing, raking, planting, fertilizing, edging lawns
  • Use of mowers, rakes or other hand and power tools typically used in gardening.
  • Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
  • Gather and remove debris.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience Education/License Requirements:

  • Must have 6 months related experience in grounds maintenance or training in related work.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to job site.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screen.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning shears, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
  • Use of mowers, rakes or other hand and power tools typically used in gardening.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and exceptional customers service skills and takes pride in the quality of their work.
  • Has knowledge of property safety precautions.
  • Ability to perform duties satisfactory to company standards.
  • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with customers and staff.
  • Clean and neat appearance.

Duties require frequent sitting, repetitive use of hands and wrists while use of grounds keeping equipment and machinery. Frequent walking, standing and simple grasping. May climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel or reach above shoulders.  May be requested to lift up to 50 lbs. 

Work Environment:
Work is performed outside and you are exposed to varied weather including warm, cold and wind.  Work is performed during standard business hours, may be required during non-business hours and weekends to meet business needs.

Additional Information

Hiring Rate:  $13.25
