Job Description

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic placement of highly complex, multi-layered, or specialized commercial accounts, including those requiring bespoke solutions or alternative risk transfer mechanisms.
  • Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with underwriters and key decisionmakers at both standard and specialty carriers, including excess and surplus (E&S) markets.
  • Design and execute tailored market strategies that align with client risk profiles and business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Producers and Client Executives, contributing to new business development and client retention through placement excellence.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the use of captives, fronting arrangements, programs, and other alternative risk financing strategies.
  • Support the negotiation of manuscript forms and complex endorsements in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
  • Act as a thought leader within the broking community, helping to shape internal placement standards, tools, and protocols.
  • Mentor junior brokers and assist with training, development, and knowledge transfer across the team.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Broking Strategy to elevate carrier engagement, broking innovation, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance broking, underwriting, or risk placement, with a strong focus on large, complex, or specialized accounts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiating with both admitted and non-admitted carriers, including experience with specialty lines or industry-specific markets.
  • Strong understanding of alternative risk solutions, including captives, risk retention groups, and structured programs.
  • Proven ability to influence client strategy and deliver innovative insurance placement outcomes.
  • Exceptional market knowledge, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior broking staff preferred.
  • Commercial Lines Broker License.
