Job Title: Operator – Production II (Manufacturing Operator)
Location: Skaneateles, New York 13153

Pay : $20/hr - $22/hr on W2
Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
Hours: 40 hours/week (Overtime required based on business needs)
Position Overview

The Manufacturing Operator II is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and handling small optical components in a precision-based production environment. The role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work with small parts using precision tools.

This position is primarily focused on assembly (90%) with limited material handling responsibilities (10%).

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production (90%)

  • Assemble small optical and precision components using hand tools.
  • Perform basic soldering tasks following detailed work instructions.
  • Follow standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing documentation.
  • Ensure components meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain high accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Use measuring devices or inspection tools to verify specifications.

Material Handling (10%)

  • Transport materials between workstations.
  • Support inventory movement and staging of parts.
  • Ensure proper labeling and handling of components.

Quality & Compliance

  • Inspect parts visually for defects or imperfections.
  • Maintain adherence to quality control processes.
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Work with basic chemicals as required in the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation (5S standards).

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in small parts assembly or precision manufacturing.
  • Basic soldering skills (or willingness to be trained).
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.
  • Basic math skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in optical, electronics, or micro-component assembly.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection procedures.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
