Job Description
Trident Consulting is seeking a " Gas & Chemical Technician" for one of our client in "Sunnyvale, CA” A global leader in business and technology services.
Role: Gas & Chemical Technician
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Supports Santa Clara & Sunnyvale Sites)
Pay: $28–$32/hr on W2
Shift: Initial Training Shift: Mon–Fri | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (2–3 Months)
Compressed Shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
Duration: 12 months
Key Responsibilities
Gas & Chemical Systems Operations
- Safe handling and change-out of gas cylinders, chemical drums, and slurry containers
- Operate and maintain gas and chemical distribution systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and complex troubleshooting
- Support installation and decommissioning of systems
Equipment Supported
- EMD Electronics Gas Systems
- Applied Energy Systems
- Fuji liquid delivery systems
- Air Liquide gas and chemical systems
Technical & Compliance Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and execute operating and maintenance procedures
- Drive ZERO safety and ZERO quality incident culture
- Support quality systems and basic safety processes
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response
- Provide subject matter expertise for gas/chemical applications in wafer fabrication
Computer & Administrative Tasks
- Use MS Office and internal systems for documentation
- Maintain accurate logs and maintenance records
- Support project and sustaining operations
Work Environment
- Semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities
- Exposure to specialty gases and chemicals (PPE provided)
- 24x7 operations (assigned to A/B/C/D compressed shifts after training)
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 lbs
- Climb ladders (with fall protection)
- Wear site-supplied breathing air respirator (10–15 minutes as needed)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and standing
- Safety boots required (voucher provided)
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintenance or equipment technician experience
- Mechanical or electrical background
- Experience with gas/chemical distribution systems
- Military technical training (strongly encouraged)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, refinery, power plant, wastewater, biotech, automotive, or industrial maintenance environments
