Senior SEO & Organic Growth Lead
- Full-time
Company Description
top.legal is a B2B Legal-Tech SaaS platform that digitises contract lifecycle management for companies across the DACH region. We have product-market fit, a growing customer base, and inbound traffic that's already working. What we don't yet have is the compound growth engine that turns early signals into a dominant market position.
We're not building a marketing department. We're building a growth machine. This is hire one of that machine.
Job Description
You own visibility. Full stop.
Right now we have a junior SEO resource and a content foundation. What we need is someone who can turn that into a self-sustaining inbound engine — the kind that generates pipeline while you sleep. You'll build the strategy, own the execution, mentor the junior, and be the person who makes organic growth a genuine competitive advantage for us in DACH.
This is not a coordinator role. You won't be briefing an agency or waiting for approval on every keyword. You'll decide, build, and ship — and you'll be judged on traffic, rankings, and pipeline contribution, not activity.
What you will own
Search — traditional and AI
Own keyword strategy and topical authority across CLM, legal ops, and procurement themes
Build content pillars that target DACH ICP personas — General Counsel, Legal Ops Directors, CPOs
Get us cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews — GEO is not optional here
Own technical SEO: site health, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawl optimisation
Content engine
Build an editorial calendar driven by ICP search intent, not gut feel
Brief and manage freelance writers in English and German to scale production
Own website conversion — landing pages, CTAs, basic A/B testing
Work with our founders to turn their expertise into content that ranks and converts
Community & LinkedIn
Build LinkedIn presence — company page and executive personal brand
Seed a DACH CLM community through relevant groups, forums, and associations
Develop content partnerships with DACH legal tech and procurement communities
Analytics & attribution
Own organic traffic KPIs and pipeline attribution in HubSpot
Report on rankings, domain authority, and content performance — monthly, clearly
Build the business case for every content investment with data
Qualifications
What you need to bring
4–7 years of B2B SaaS SEO. You've owned strategy, not just execution. You know what long-cycle, technical-buyer SEO looks like and you've done it.
Content architecture experience. You've built editorial systems from scratch — not just done keyword research. You've managed writers and shipped content at volume.
AI search fluency. You can articulate a concrete plan for LLM citation building, entity optimisation, and AI Overview visibility. If this means nothing to you, this role isn't right.
Data attribution instinct. GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs or Semrush. You connect organic traffic to pipeline, not just pageviews.
C2 written English. Most of our content and strategy runs in English. German is a real plus — not a blocker.
Proven community or audience building. LinkedIn following, Slack community, industry forum — something real, not theoretical.
Useful extras
Background in LegalTech, ProcureTech, or CLM — you'll ramp faster and your content will be sharper
HubSpot experience — content attribution and lead lifecycle management
Series A–C SaaS background — you know how to operate without an agency holding your hand
CRO exposure — landing page testing, heat mapping, funnel analysis
German at B2+ — valuable for content quality review and community engagement
Additional Information
What to expect from us
We won't micromanage your content calendar. We will challenge your strategy. We're a small team that moves fast decisions get made in days, not weeks, and you'll have direct access to the founders when you need it.
In the first 30 days we'll expect you to audit what we have, form a view on where we're losing ground, and bring a 90-day plan. We'll pressure test it together. Then you execute.
What we don't want: someone who needs a detailed brief for every piece of content, who reports activity instead of outcomes, or who treats SEO as a checklist rather than a growth system.
