Job Description

In this role, the qualified candidate will be focused on achieving the highest levels of customer success as defined by the goals and requirements of our customers. Your projects will be technical in nature and span Cloud, Application, Cybersecurity, Physical Security, and Network Infrastructure practices. Looking for a self-starter with excellent documentation and organizational skills and someone that thrives in an environment where curiosity and thought leadership lead collaborative discussions that result in long term solutions. As the Project Manager you provide ownership of the overall financial and resource management of the projects within your portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective management of various size IT projects
  • Manage project resources to control the execution of the projects tasks that may include full-time employees, 1099 contractors, and other subcontractors
  • Apply a standard defined methodology to projects such as PMI and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Responsible for overall success of the project and has responsibility and accountability for the budget of the entire project
  • Forecast Revenue and Gross Profit of each project in your portfolio to Service Delivery Leadership
  • Collect and document project issues and manage their timely resolution
  • Lead the definition of project risks, and the required mitigation approaches, to include monitoring project activities for the occurrence of risks, and takes timely action to mitigate the risk
  • At the completion of a project, captures lessons learned, and communicates those to other project managers and team leads
  • Effectively apply lessons learned in subsequent projects
  • Ensure projects are staffed, duties and responsibilities are completed on time
  • Work in tandem with sales and engineering
  • Contribute to the development of pricing/Level of Effort (LOE), Statement of Work (SOW) and proposals
  • ·Develop an effective working relationship with other departments across the organization to ensure successful delivery of the proposal
  • Define, coordinate, and allocate consulting resources as needed for project deliveries.
  • Achieve revenue and profitability goals
  • Develop an effective project plan and work breakdown structure for controlling the project scope, schedule, and cost baseline, and monitors the project execution to ensure that the plan is being followed
  • Coordinate activities to meet project milestones
  • Manage project budget by tracking and reporting project team hours on a weekly basis.·        
  • Conduct formal and informal requirements gathering processes, including organization of meetings, as well as formal documentation of user requirements
  • Create and effectively coordinate documentation to explain changes to the project, and ensures the approved change requests are implemented

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a technical discipline is preferred. Will accept experience in lieu of degree
  • PMP, ITIL and technical industry certifications are highly desired or the ability to obtain PMP certification within 3 months
  • 3+ years technical project management and resource management experience with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a federal environment is preferred along with a strong background in IT technologies
  • Must understand the concept of revenues/margins/labor cost in a services consulting model
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and diverse requirements from competing stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated experience in formal project management methodologies, along with knowledge and understanding of accounting practices
  • Results driven, with excellent customer relationship, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • MS Project, MS Visio, and MS Office skills required
  • Strong comprehension skills for understanding needs and developing and applying solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and switch between tasks quickly
