Job Description

Immediate opening for a Mid-Senior level Telecommunication Technician.  The candidate will be a part of team responsible for performing customer support activities and installations at various government sites throughout the National Capital Region.  Must have experience in all facets of network installations to include Copper and Fiber Optic, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required. Must have a thorough understanding of EIA/ TIA Standards.  BICSI Certification preferred. 

  • Conduct on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. 
  • Surveying, installing, pulling and terminating cable and fiber, racks, patch panels, etc., testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc.
  • Accountability/Dependability to work as needed/scheduled.
  • Teamwork (technical expertise developed to complete work efficiently).
  • Active Listening (ability to take input from customers, Supervisor and co-workers to problem solve).
  • Assists in all aspects of the project as directed by the PM.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.  Active Security Clearance is a plus. 
  • 4-7 years of telecommunications installation experience.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of most widely used installation, termination and testing procedures along with the use of any associated hardware and equipment.
  • Fiber optic cabling experience to include termination, testing and troubleshooting is required.
  • BICSI Certification preferred
  • Industry Certifications as plus. 
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform the necessary work while on the ladder.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry 25 lbs.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must have own tools
