Job Description

Immediate openings for Graphics Designers at Ft. Meade.  The successful candidate(s) will be a member of a team supporting a DoD organization with video-teleconferencing services on multiple networks.  

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Multimedia Production Support Team Lead.
  • Provide graphic production support, directory creation, cataloguing and system support for the image database.
  • Provide cataloguing and inventory management of graphic and reproduction center software licenses.
  • Provide documentation and media management and support of a graphic image database.
  • Use knowledge of current graphic design software to collaborate on and contributes to the productions of graphic art and visual information (VI) materials for graphic design projects.
  • Use graphic design software to produce VI materials for promotions, advertisements, films, packaging and informative or instructional material through a variety of media outlets such as websites and CD-ROMs.
  • Provide research and presents industry trends and implementable improvements to affect efficient operation of the graphic and reproduction centers.
  • Support hardware, software and firmware located within the VI Services Branch production area, multimedia support infrastructure, VI Self Help Center and the adjacent reproduction facility except while providing support for Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and exercises.
  • Provide graphics data management by providing system support maintaining integrity, performing updates for the graphic image database and cataloging image files using applicable referenced documentation.
  • Sustain network stored, digital assets system and production files; develop an electronic archival copy of digital assets by Fiscal Year and maintain existing archives.
  • Provide on-site support primarily at main customer site location; provide occasional alternate or satellite site support and/or travel as needed.
  • Provide on-site support primarily during standard business hours and/or contractually mandated core hours from 0600-1800 hours, Monday through Friday; provides occasional support outside of core hours or on weekends as needed.
  • Perform daily, weekly monthly equipment and systems preventive maintenance and operations checks and services; secures photography lab and office venues as required.
  • Provide support as needed to the Multimedia Production Support Team for setting up and executing outdoor or off site ceremonies or events.
  • Submit and manage service requests and work orders for graphics service/work orders and requests; de-conflicts and resolves scheduling issues.
  • Responsible for the generation of and compliance with customer organization and contractual recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements; non-recurring and special reports; develops and implements metrics capture processes and procedures, quality control and assurance processes and procedures; performs other tasks as assigned and demonstrates proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.
  • Under general supervision and occasional direction, generates and manipulates graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into consolidated and seamless multimedia programs.
  • Remain abreast of technological advances in the field and able to identify areas of use in the organization.

Qualifications

Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Poly.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Experience:   3 to 5 years of graphic design experience in related DoD field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience with operational and functional tasks include providing graphics and production-specific support including graphic production support, directory creation, cataloguing documentation, and media management of the image database system support.
  • Experience in cataloguing and inventory management of graphic and reproduction software licenses; research and presentation of industry trends.
  • Experience supporting software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Experience in a DoD environment with multimedia standalone local area network support; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.
  • Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions audio-visual equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequently bends, kneels and crouches during audio-visual equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, assembly/disassembly, installation/de-installation, and sustainment.
  • May be required to travel by vehicle if/when needed to perform tasks at satellite facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR).
