Job Description

Toomey Technologies has immediate openings in Northern, Virginia for talented and motivated Full Stack Developers with strong Software Engineering skills to join our team! As a Full Stack Developer you will be responsible for designing software architectures and ensuring efficient development among team members. The Full Stack Developer will work to support the development, integration, and deployment of applications in a
cloud environment using languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and C++ on commercial platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). The candidate should have a broad range of knowledge in all stages for software development with significant experience in developing applications in response to Intelligence Community & Department of Defense analysts needs.  The Full Stack Developer will be leveraging commercial and open source data streams fused with classified intelligence to increase indications and warning (I&W) data and provide automated resource allocation and response options to include support for object detection. By using their experience leading projects in a fast paced environment, the Full Stack Developer will work as part of an agile software development team to design and rapidly prototype scalable solutions. The candidate must be self-starting, able to work well within a team environment and motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact national security.

  • Communicate with government customers, stakeholders and team members.
  • Design and build full stack application with modern technologies, intuitive user-interfaces and
    scalable data processing architectures using open source software.
  • Deploy and maintain applications in AWS and other deployment environments as needed.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on delivery strategy, roadmaps, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, data scientists, and analysts to implement enhancements or new applications.
  • Rapidly deliver capabilities in direct response to customer needs.
  • Perform evaluations on applications and improve their accuracies and efficiencies.
  • Maintain DevOps using modern CI/CD pipelines and tools like AWS, Jenkins, and Docker

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Minimum TS security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • 5-8 yrs. of related experience in:
  • o Full Stack development
  • o Specially Linux environments
  • o Experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, C/C++, Java, Javascript
  • o Worked with cloud systems such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • o Worked with large scale data sets, using databases such as Postgres, MySQL
  • o Data analytics and Machine Learning tools, specifically Apache Spark)
  • o Analysis of algorithms, software, and software architectures
  • o Continuous Integration, Testing, and Deployment
  • o Software systems engineering and testing
  • o Development environment setup and management

Desired Skills

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Geospatial Data Processing (GDAL, OGR, PostGIS)
  • Experience working within a software development or big data environment
  • IC/DoD focused data science
  • User Experience (UX) design
  • Information assurance and security
