Project Engineer III - Water Resources

Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a full time experienced Project Engineer III in our Water Resources Group in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office location.  In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will work with the internal team and clients on infrastructure design and retrofit projects.  

Essential Duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support infrastructure designs
  • Design utility improvement projects, including urban retrofits and resilient infrastructure related projects
  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums to convey project results to our clients
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as needed

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related degree
  • Ideal candidates would have at least four years of water resources engineering; familiarity with municipal infrastructure design preferred.
  • PE required
  • Strong experience working with CADD and/or Civil 3D software is required
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS preferred
  • Must be dependable, responsible and have good written/verbal communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
