Job Description

The digital advertising department at The Telegraph is currently recruiting a new Senior Price & Yield Manager to work in the Monetisation and Operational Analystics team, focused on helping to grow revenue through effective management of our digital inventory.

Ideally you will have experience working with a media owner/publisher and focusing heavily on yield management, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to work in a fast moving and occasionally pressurised environment.

This role will involve people management as well, looking after a team including Senior Analysts, so prior line management experience would be preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for digital rate-cards & pricing operations.
  • Driving pricing-related initiatives to maximise digital revenues.
  • Liaise with the operations team to ensure pricing systems and approvals rules are in line with pricing strategies.
  • Review and enhance yield strategies with the aim of growing digital revenues.
  • Point of contact for any yield related matters on our digital inventory.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and conduct analysis to provide valuable insights to partner groups including sales, product, operations and finance.
  • Responsible for modelling revenue initiatives & opportunities and measuring their impact.
  • Execute the development of the right suite of reports & dashboards for ratecard and inventory management.
  • Provide monthly insights into yields, pricing strategies to derive value from our user base.
  • Support finance on the development of supply forecasting models and yield/price assumptions.
  • Effectively communicate pricing & yield initiatives to key stakeholders in the organization.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience within in the online space, pricing and/or yield management.
  • Excellent analytic skills – able to compile reports and transformative analysis, identify patterns and build a consultancy style level of insights to drive change.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Very strong communication skills and experience dealing with senior management
  • Comfortable in working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent people leadership skills, developing and managing high performing teams
  • Effective team player – able to build relationships & foster teamwork within and across multiple teams.
  • Successful at working within and across multiple cultures.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office Tools (Excel and PowerPoint) is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of BI & Analytical Tools (i.e. Tableau, Business Objects, Adobe Analytics, Microstrategy) is required
