Job Description

Supervises: Sales, Office Manager, and Warehouse Foreman


Function: Responsible for the effective planning and overall management of the division so as to ensure optimum profitability and growth.

Planning

Establish and recommend short and long term goals of


the division, along with strategies to achieve those goals, which will
in turn enhance operating efficiency and ensure the continued stability
and future growth of the division.

Administrative

Ensure that all personnel understand the


Corporate philosophy, goals and objectives as well as their own
responsibilities and authorities. Administrative policies and procedures
should also be reviewed, including safety, good housekeeping standards
and professional appearance.

Perform written and personal performance reviews on key personnel,


and assess the reviews provided by supervisors on their subordinates
prior to sending to the President for approval.

Establish and chair a series of regularly scheduled division


meetings, and encourage the development of subordinates by executing any
Corporate recommended training programs, seminars, trade shows and
workshops.

Make recommendations with respect to division reorganizations,


terminations, hiring needs and upon approval, take the appropriate
actions.

Financial

Analyze and approve all division monthly and


quarterly sales and expense reports, all administrative expenses, and
ensure that all payroll information is provided to Corporate in a timely
and accurate manner.

Review and assess all division open order and shipping reports,


transportation functions and financial arrangements to ensure that
everything is moving in an expeditious manner and that profit margins
are in line with purchasing and landed costs.

Oversee and review the Corporation’s credit and collections programs ensuring that:


Credit information for applications is accurately obtained and forwarded to the VP of Finance for approval.

Regularly scheduled collection meetings are being held to assess


status of aging and strategies to collect on delinquent accounts.

Recommendations are provided to the VP of Finance on credit status, write-offs, legal action, etc.


Sales With the assistance of the VP of Sales, develop the
annual sales goals and forecasts, obtain approval from the President,
and review the results on a monthly basis, implementing a plan of
corrective action if necessary.

Provide the needed amount of field and phone coverage for both


existing and potential accounts, ensuring that all calls, customer
questions and complaints are being attended to in a timely, professional
and courteous manner.

Guide and direct all division sales personnel with respect to profit


margins, and see that all sales and order entry procedures are being
carried out in accordance with Corporate approved policy.

Consistently analyze regional competition and work with VP of Sales


and the President on strategy to neutralize any competitive strengths.

Maintain close professional relationships with major accounts through


scheduling phone calls, visitations, attending important outside trade
functions, and entertaining customers as warranted.

Operations

Monitor the preventative maintenance program on the


Company’s machinery, equipment and vehicles and make certain that these
assets are kept in a safe and effective condition.

Ensure that the warehouse and yard are maintained in an efficient,


clean, safe and secure manner meeting all state, federal and county
statues and Corporate approved requirements and policies. Consistently
assess the inventory status of the division in terms of accuracy to the
system, purchasing needs, return of faulty products, deletion of
non-moving stock items, minimum and maximum levels, quality, anticipated
shipments and effectively coordinate with the General Manager to ensure
that the division is operating within the approved guidelines.

Maintain awareness of other division inventory status prior to making


purchase order, and order stock items from the mills in accordance with
the directives and systems outlined by the Purchasing Manager and the
General Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4yrs experience in Management role.

Requirements: Proven leadership in management/operations in a


manufacturing/distribution environment. Strong communication skills,
proven capability to motivate, manage and supervise effectively. A
self-starter who loves to get things done, works efficiently, and is an
expert with time management vis-a-vis job priorities and corporate
initiatives. Experience in industrial products, wire, cable or chord
highly preferred. Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
