Job Description
Definition:
A recognized expert providing leadership and guidance to a small team of specialists, ensuring the effective execution of support activities, projects, and scheduling. Contributes strategic insights and recommends best practices to improve processes and services within their area of expertise. May lead projects of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides expert-level leadership and technical guidance to a team of specialists (0-4 individuals), which includes hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring team members.
- Interprets internal and external business challenges related to team operations and recommends best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leads projects of moderate complexity, potentially including quality initiatives, audits, panelist incentives, and financial oversight for the team.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders across various functional teams (e.g., App Dev, Panel Support, Mailing Controls, Dsci, Field) to drive alignment and achieve project goals.
- Leverages advanced analytical skills and metrics to identify areas for improvement in team performance and operational efficiency.
- Identifies and escalates business-critical issues related to sample quality and performance, providing strategic insights for resolution.
- Contributes to cross-functional initiatives related to automation and new metering platforms, offering specialized expertise.
- Provides technical leadership and is often responsible for delivering significant parts of larger projects or initiatives.
- Evaluates process performance within the team and provides recommendations for improvements based on their deep understanding.
- Recognizes process gaps and redundancies, proposing solutions for optimization.
- May support and provide back-up to a more senior leader.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of recognized expertise in operations processes, preferably within the Nielsen environment or comparable industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or specialized certifications strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in specialized areas, with a proven ability to guide and influence small teams.
- Expert-level technical and professional skills with a strong record of delivering high-quality results on time.
- Strategic insight and the ability to analyze complex data to draw conclusions and provide expert advice or consultation to business leaders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in making critical decisions.
- Proven ability to respond effectively to diverse individuals and promote understanding and partnership across teams.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to effectively build consensus among team members and stakeholders.
- Capability to evaluate process performance and drive innovation within their specialty.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve results through others.
- Ability to interview, gather information, and effectively collaborate with all levels of staff.
- Experience in developing, implementing, or maintaining business performance measurement data.
