Job Description
Join our Sheet Metal department on the day shift at our Blacktown site from 5am start to 1:30pm finish from Mon-Thurs, Fridays we finish at 11:00am! Reporting to the Team Leader, this role is essential to producing quality components that align with production schedules and Temperzone Australia guidelines.
This position can be physically demanding, so the successful candidate must be physically fit. You'll also need a keen eye for detail and accuracy, excellent hand tool skills, and the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience operating CNC brake presses and panel folders is advantageous, as is prior experience working with sheet metal, aluminium, and stainless steel.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Review blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Select and inspect metal stock to ensure correct dimensions.
- Mark reference points using measuring instruments and templates.
- Cut, shape, and form metal components using tools and press brake machines.
- Read and interpret 2D drawings for accurate fabrication.
- Assemble and join components using welding, riveting, and soldering.
- Follow safety standards and maintain a strong OH&S focus.
- Maintain equipment and workspace through regular housekeeping.
- Work collaboratively to meet production targets effectively.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
You will have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, have a high level of attention to detail and an uncompromising attitude to safety.
- Current drivers and forklift license required.
- Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, including forming of aluminium and stainless-steel sheet materials.
- Demonstrated experience operating relevant machinery.
- TIG welding skills are advantageous.
- Previously work experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
