Job Description

As a Junior / Associate Project Manager at Telefónica Tech you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of small projects and workstreams, operating with increasing autonomy while supported by senior delivery leadership.

You are accountable for planning, coordination, and commercial control at a smaller scale, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This role is a key development step toward full Project Manager capability, combining delivery ownership with structured support and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery Ownership (Small Projects)

  • Own the delivery of low complexity / low risk projects end-to-end
  • Define and manage:
  • Scope
  • Timeline
  • Deliverables
  • Ensure projects are delivered:
  • On time
  • Within budget
  • To agreed quality standards

2. Planning & Coordination

  • Create and maintain project plans and schedules
  • Coordinate resources across consultants and stakeholders
  • Track progress against milestones and proactively manage deviations
  • Ensure dependencies are identified and managed

3. RAID Management

  • Actively manage:
  • Risks
  • Assumptions
  • Issues
  • Dependencies
  • Escalate appropriately and early where required
  • Focus on managing risks

4. Commercial & Financial Control

  • Track Budget vs actuals & Forecast vs remaining effort
  • Ensure accurate: Timesheet submission & Effort tracking
  • Support billing readiness and ensure projects remain commercially viable

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary contact for smaller client engagements
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with: Clients & Internal teams
  • Provide regular, structured status reporting (RAG-based)

6. Delivery Governance

  • Ensure adherence to: Delivery frameworks, Reporting standards, Documentation requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date: Project documentation & Status reports

7. Continuous Development

  • Build capability toward full Project Manager role
  • Seek feedback and coaching from: Senior PMs & Programme Managers
  • Develop understanding of: Commercial models, Delivery frameworks, Client engagement

Qualifications

Key Skills & Experience

Experience in a: Project Coordinator, PMO, Junior PM role

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good understanding of Project lifecycle & basic financial tracking
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Minimum and Essential Requirements for this role:

  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstratable experience in a similar role, or on a similar contract delivery type, or working to deliver technology projects in a Managed Services environment 
  • Proven experience in working with End Users and Clients.
  • Proven experience in managing resources to deliver tasks.
  • Good attention to detail and a natural ability to translate requirements into action, that can be converted to plans.
  • A willingness to learn, on all levels, within delivery and the dynamics of project work, and the commercial setting of business delivery.
  • Affable, approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A highly flexible individual, willing to go the extra mile to support delivery.
  • Strong mental capacity and ability to manage multiple dual running projects at the same time.
  • A broad technology experience with a sound awareness of current technology trends.
