Company Description

Contract – Q1 Event Season

For more than three decades, Techo-Bloc has been redefining outdoor living. What began as one family's question, "why should creativity be limited to a handful of paver styles?", has grown into a family-owned North American leader in hardscape design and manufacturing, with 36+ patents to its name.

Today, our 850+ employees, 9 production plants, 800+ dealers and 14,000 certified Techo-Pros shape homes and public spaces across the continent. We are proud to be recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies. If you're ambitious, love a challenge and don't quite fit the mold, you'll fit right in.

Job Description

Our planning team builds every event months in advance. You're the one who makes it happen.

As our On-Site Event Coordinator, you lead Techo-Bloc's roadshows, loyalty events and trade shows on the ground across Canada and the U.S. From load-in to load-out, you own the setup, the flow, the team and the guest experience. You're not watching from the sidelines: you lead by doing, side by side with your team. When something goes sideways, you fix it before anyone notices.

What you'll own

  • Event readiness: Review each BEO in advance, cross-check every line item with what was confirmed and flag discrepancies before arriving on-site
  • Setup and teardown: Lead and take part in installing furniture, signage, AV and branded elements, then make sure everything is packed and accounted for at the end
  • Your on-site team: Brief the team, assign roles and stay hands-on all day, stepping in wherever needed
  • The guest experience: Run registration, welcome guests, handle walk-ins and set a warm, professional tone from the first hello
  • Food and beverage: Coordinate with catering to keep timing and service on point
  • Venue and partner relations: Be the go-to contact for venue staff, suppliers, Techo-Bloc reps and partners, and make sure everyone has what they need
  • Real-time problem solving: Keep the program on schedule and resolve issues before they reach guests
  • Post-event follow-up: Debrief the planning team and check final invoices against the BEO, flagging any gaps or overages

A day in the life

No two event days are exactly alike. Yours might look like:

  • Arriving before sunrise to lead setup and make sure every detail is ready before doors open.
  • Walking the venue with the team, catching a last-minute issue and finding a solution before guests arrive.
  • Welcoming guests at registration and setting the tone for the experience.
  • Coordinating with the venue, catering team and suppliers while keeping your team moving according to plan.
  • Making a quick call when something changes mid-event and keeping the program on schedule.
  • Leading teardown after the last guest leaves and making sure every item is accounted for before heading out.
  • Sending a concise post-event recap to the planning team while the details are still fresh.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • 2+ years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, event operations or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading a team during live events or in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under pressure.
  • Excellent judgment and the confidence to make decisions independently when things don't go according to plan.
  • A natural ability to make people feel welcome while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • A valid driver's license and passport, with the ability and willingness to travel extensively across Canada and the U.S.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work extended hours during event setup, execution and teardown.

You'll thrive here if you

  • Lead from the front and are never above rolling up your sleeves.
  • Stay calm, resourceful and solution-focused when things don't go according to plan.
  • Can make a decision with limited information and confidently move forward.
  • Notice the details others miss and care about getting things right.
  • Enjoy working with people and know how to keep a team focused during a long event day.
  • Get energized by travel, variety and fast-paced environments.
  • Would rather solve a problem than explain why it happened.
  • Take ownership of the outcome, not just your assigned tasks.
