Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Controller, the Controller of the Midwest Division will be responsible for all the accounting activities related to the manufacturing sites and distribution centers of the assigned territory. Alongside the finance team, the Controller will have to master financial accounting, cost analysis, inventory management and banking transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the timely production of the monthly and annual financial statements according to deadlines;
  • Produce all explanatory appendices required for senior management;
  • Conduct financial analysis and produce all required financial reports;
  • Be able to maintain a credible rapport with the external Canadian and American auditors.  The Controller is the resource person for the Canadian and / or American tax authorities for the manufacturing sites under his or her responsibility;
  • Ensure rigorous management of cost control activities;
  • Establish inventory costing alongside the cost analyst;
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory (quantity and prices);
  • Balance the various accounts with the assistant (inventory, AP, AR, loans, immobilization);
  • Participate in the fiscal year end;
  • Verify and explain margin reports;
  • Produce and coordinate the budget process with each department;
  • Publish reports: Current expenditures VS budget for each department;
  • Publish different performance indicator ratios;
  • Establish relevant internal controls;
  • Participate in the improvement of accounting processes:
  • Train your team, act as a key resource person;
  • Participate in the business case process for all new products and projects;
  • Manage fixed assets(purchases, sales, dispositions and transfers);
  • Constantly maintain a tax and legal watch of the accounting activities of the company;
  • Find solutions and add value to Techo-Bloc;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting;
  • Accounting title;
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in cost and financial control;
  • Excellent command of integrated management systems (ERP) such as Microsoft AX or SAP;
  • Excellent command of Office Suite and particularly Excel;
  • Bilingualism orally and written is essential;
