Job Description
Responsibilities
1.) Establishing or updating a project plan. The plan will include:
a.) A schedule with milestones to allow short term objectives over the duration of the project. MS Project must be used unless the Consultant gains Our Client’s support for an alternative means to MS Project. The Consultant may be expected to create a Work Breakdown Structure to support planning of the project.
b.) A cost budget
2.) Monitoring schedule performance and reporting on progress.
3.) Monitoring spending and ensuring adherence to budget.
4.) Assisting Our Client managers in obtaining the necessary resources and skill sets for the project.
5.) Leading the creation of and/or updating of the Our Client Architectural Building Permit
6.) Managing the Statements of Work requirements of the third party vendors that provide SME resourcing. This may include the creation of additional SOWs as required by the project.
7.) Leading the creation of and updating of the High Level Design document and Detailed Design documents. These documents are to cover:
a.) Software, additional packages and their configuration
b.) Hardware platforms and related IT infrastructure
c.) Integration and Networking configurations and related IT infrastructure
d.) Business process changes. This may include Use Cases and/or process diagrams
8.) Creating and managing an Action Register
9.) Monitoring and managing the Risk Register
10.) Authoring project status reports including Our Client’s monthly reporting mechanism. This includes Jeopardy reports as required
11.) Leading the creation of and updating of an Implementation Plan
12.) Authoring Change Requests and Re-authorization documentation, as required
13.) Authoring or leading the creation of Quality Assurance documentation including an Acceptance Test Plan
14.) Authoring a Project Completion Report (or cancellation report) and lead or participate in Lessons Learned activities
15.) Maintaining a Project Library in Our Client’s Lotus Notes
16.) Manage the project in line with the PMI (PMBOK) guidelines where Our Client processes do not cover
Requirements
1.) Intermediate/Senior Project Manager skills with strong leadership qualities:
- Proven, strong Organization, Planning, Facilitation, Risk Analysis, Controlling, Negotiation, and Communication (verbal/written) skills required.
2.) Proven experience in vendor management
3.) Proven experience in managing high level requirements gathering and development.
4.) Expertise in using MS Project with experience in resource loading/leveling, calendaring, etc. Candidate will be required to maintain the project schedule in coordination with various workgroups. In addition ability to track risks, issues and work towards resolution or escalation would be a defnite requirement.
5.) Experience with Lotus Notes (Our Client Project Librairies are in Lotus Notes)
6.) Proven experience in managing complex technology projects.
7.) Experience in managing projects in the IT or Telecommunications industry
8.) PM Certification is highly desired.
9.) Minimum five (5) years experience in a PM role
10.) For Telecom Project Managers . Past experience managing telecommunications network projects is preferred but not mandatory.
11.) For IT Project Managers - . Past experience managing IS/IT projects is required.
12.) For Security Project Managers - Past experience managing security projects is required.
