Job Description

CLIENT’S REQUIREMENTS

•     Provide professional expertise on information architecture; conducting a comprehensive architecture needs assessments and review in support of the Hyperion Implementation project;
•     Provide advice on OPS information architecture policies, standards, processes and controls as they pertain to the Hyperion Implementation project;
•     Develop all information artefacts of both logical data models and dimensional models in the form of
Sybase PowerDesigner in compliance with GO-ITS 56.1, Information Modelling Handbook, and OPS
architecture standards;
•     Define information architecture requirements for the Hyperion Implementation project to support the implementation of Hyperion as an OPS Enterprise reporting application;
•     Provide leadership on in-depth information architecture reviews and assessments;
•     Developing in-depth documentation on the information architecture requirements for IFIS interfaces with other OPS applications;
•     Participate in the development and review of architectural artefacts for Checkpoints 1 and 2;
•   Determine and document data migration strategies required for the IFIS Renewal Phase 2     Project;
•     Advise on changes required to the current information security policy, standards and procedures used within the Enterprise Financial Systems Branch to complete the IFIS Upgrade.

Resource will also be required to:


•     Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines;

•     Notify the Cluster/Ministry project Manager in writing of any issues or other material concerns related to the assignment deliverables, as soon as the he/she becomes aware of them;
•     Submit deliverables for the Cluster/Ministry approval as they are completed;

•     Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry security procedures and practices;

•     Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry architecture/technology standards and best practices;
•     Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality

Guidelines;

•     Provide knowledge and skill transfer to a designated Cluster/Ministry staff; and

•     Comply with the Ontario Government I&IT Directive, Operational Policy on the I&IT Project

Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures.

To perform their duties under this request, the Information Architect consultant is expected to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the following skills, activities, or areas:

•     3+ years of knowledge and prior experience with OPS Information Architecture and Data Modelling policies, standards and procedures as defined within the GO-ITS Standards.
•     3+ years of knowledge and prior project experience with OPS Enterprise Applications such as IFIS.
•     Demonstrable experience in preparing and presenting information architecture artefacts to the OPS Architecture Review Board (ARB) and the Architecture Core Team (ACT) of ARB, and specifically for ARB Checkpoints 1 and 2.
•     Demonstrable knowledge and experience with information architecture and modelling of data exchanges and interfaces within the Oracle eBusiness Suite environment.
•    Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Enterprise Reporting/BI Applications such as Hyperion
    
Other skills include:

•    Experience in creating dimensional data models.
•     Knowledge of Data and Information Security policies, standards and procedures used within the OPS
and defined within GO-ITS Standards.
•     Experience with information modelling of COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) enterprise applications such as Hyperion Planning and Reporting

•    Extensive experience with data and information modelling tools.
