Pricing Manager

Homebased - with travel to Bicester 3-4 times per month

Fresh Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Pricing Manager to join the Commercial – Merchandising team on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting into the Merchandising Director you’ll support and manage the Pricing team in the execution of pricing strategies across national, key and street customers through analysis and understanding of both raw material, foreign exchange impact and internal supply chain costs.

This role provides internal pricing guidance for key seasonal changes and monthly market-based pricing structures, supporting the development of innovative pricing schemes and tools whilst accurately measuring and maintaining price performance and providing governance over all pricing related processes, assuring pricing discipline, integrity and accuracy in all customer pricing submissions.

This role is home-based, however will require you to visit the Bicester office 3-4 times per month for team collaboration, so flexibility is required.

  • Managing the builds of pricing structures within the business on a seasonal, monthly, and ad hoc basis, working with the sales teams to ensure relevance on shape and value of goods.
  • Support the governance and control process for all pricing related processes.
  • Working with the procurement and supply chain teams to understand true cost, market cost, foreign exchange impacts and cost of supply for all wholesale products and building into a fit for purpose cost file to support both matrixed price changes and ad hoc product listings or basket amendments.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining benchmarking and market price guidance for both internal and external customers and both existing and proposed customer baskets.
  • Understanding, controlling, and communicating internal cost of goods levels to the business ensuring market relevant costs for informed pricing decisions.
  • Working closely with the support of the Purchasing and Marketing departments to provide clear market justification data that supports and embellishes the price review process on a seasonal, monthly & ad hoc basis.
  • Building and mapping Financial Evaluation documents for new business tenders and providing guidance and insight on appropriate price submission for successful pipeline and tender conversion.

  • Develop key skills and expertise in each of the business focuses, providing direct partnering to each area of the business.
  • Identify business needs for new processes, insights, reporting and data to support in margin and sales growth
  • Being recognised as a key advisor to the business around price, costs and product market moves.
  • Responsible for the formulation and ongoing maintenance of Commercial business processes to support better, faster working, stronger cross-functional alignment and sales and margin growth.
  • Oversee a small team to ensure accuracy of reporting, price uploads and various commercial support functions.

You’ll have extensive experience in a similar Pricing Manager role with the understanding of complex pricing strategy management, either B2B or B2C. Advanced knowledge in creating, publishing and managing price lists as well as implementing pricing strategies, ideally within an FMCG/Produce organisation. An expert in assessing commercial proposals and providing accurate recommendations. We’re looking for someone who has experience of supporting and managing a small – medium sized team through effective coaching and development. This role suits a customer focused pricing professional with excellent stakeholder management skills to build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally. A strategic and commercial mind set is essential for this role to deliver cost effective decision making across the business supporting margin and sales growth.
