To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Research Assistant for our Seed Health Development team. This role is pivotal in technically supporting the development, optimization, and implementation of robust seed health testing methods. The challenge
- Develop and apply advanced technical expertise in seed health testing through hands-on laboratory work and method execution.
- Design and execute experiments for method development and optimization, ensuring scientific rigor and data generation.
- Analyze data and deliver clear, technical reports with actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation through method optimization, process enhancement, and technology scouting.
- Maintain and improve laboratory procedures, equipment, and technical standards to ensure reliable and consistent results.
- Ensure all operations are compliant, safe, and meet high-quality standards in line with HSE and governance protocols.
Qualifications
Your profile
- MSc or HBO level with at least 4 years of relevant experience in diagnostics, molecular biology, plant pathology, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience working with micro-organisms and seed health testing methods, including molecular techniques (e.g., ELISA, qPCR, nucleic acid isolation) and bioassays.
- Demonstrated experience in method development, laboratory workflows, and technical problem-solving.
- Experience with laboratory automation and the use of LIMS or digital lab systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information and influence stakeholders across functions.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong collaboration and networking skills, with the ability to connect effectively with Operations and work across disciplines.
