Job Description

What will you be doing?

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the business as a Payroll Senior. You will have the chance to join a dynamic and ambitious team in the heart of Manchester at the start of an exciting growth journey for S&W. Here you’ll report into the Payroll Manager and will be responsible for running your own payroll portfolio on a day-to-day basis.

This is a permanent full time role based at our Manchester office with hybrid working available.

We envisage a two stage interview process, with at least one stage taking the form of a face to face meeting at our offices.  It’s certainly a great time to join!

As a Payroll Senior your responsibilities will include among others

  • Manage a portfolio of clients to ensure all payrolls are efficiently processed
  • Ensuring high levels of quality by thoroughly reviewing payroll reports in line with our payroll control framework
  • Managing & dealing with client issues / problems on their payroll matters
  • Attend to all payroll billing accurately and on time
  • Assist with new payroll on-boarding where necessary
  • Support HMRC enquiries and investigations as required
  • Manage Pension contributions and reporting

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have

  • Current knowledge of developments in the sector
  • Simultaneous management of multiple payrolls
  • Ability to process payrolls for clients unassisted with a key attention to detail
  • Ability to process payroll input information provided by the client and liaise with client regarding any queries
  • Ability to attend to any client queries or Revenue issues

Desired

  • Experience in a practice environment dealing with external clients
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 and BrightPay
  • Any relevant payroll qualifications
