The Healthcare Self-Pay Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients calling in regarding self-pay and out-of-pocket medical balances. This role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service, resolving financial accounts using approved guidelines, and strictly adhering to speed and accuracy metrics.
Job Description
- Hourly wage
- $17.50 English
- $18.50 Bilingual
- Department is open 9am-9pm EST
- Understand payer contracts, rules and regulations.
- Understanding of insurance eligibility requirements
- Understanding of insurance billing priority
- Review claim denials, rejections and underpayments.
- Communicate issues and offer suggestions to Management for process improvements.
- Understand and apply federal and state rules and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, PCI Compliance regulations, PII/PHI Security.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; College preferred.
- Hospital or Healthcare (US) knowledge/experience preferred.
- Contact or Call Center experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills required.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Minimum typing skills 60 words per minute with the ability to talk and type
- Minimum 3-5 years’ work-related experience.
- SMS Invision, I-series, Meditech, Epic experience a plus.
- Microsoft Office experience required.
