SPAG offers advice on maximising the contribution of policy advocacy and research in policymaking, toward building a new strategic roadmap for the Republic of Sudan.

Sudan Vision 2030 is a policy-based project for a multistage national strategic vision that represents Sudanese people’s aspirations for a better future. The vision aim at creates the needed shift to transform Sudan into a leading country in Africa by the year 2030. From the economy to governance, and the rule of law to repositioning Sudan on the global agenda, Sudan Vision 2030 demonstrated a solid commitment and a national passion for change and development.

Job Description

The role

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Manager, Resource Planning & Management Division (RPMD), the Head of Human Resources is responsible for the oversight of Sudan Vision 2030 human resources activities. The Head manages HR team and services. She/he implements HR policies and programs in all the key areas of human resources: talent management, recruitment, leadership and learning, performance management, shared services, and business advisory services as well as workforce planning.

 

Responsibilities

As delegated by the Manager, Resource Planning & Management Division, Head of Human Resources will work to perform the following tasks and duties:

  • Defines the vision and strategic direction of the project’s human-resources-management practice consistent with evolving business needs and best practice and leads and drives change to achieve the identified vision.
  • Exercises thought leadership, introduces and originates methods and systems to align talent to give effect to the vision’s milestones.
  • Management of recruitment processes, including reviewing job descriptions, provision of input to job classification, vacancy announcement, screening of candidates, and facilitating interview panels.
  • Ensures the provision of critical business reporting, information and insight to senior management on workforce trends, profile, and emerging issues to position the project and proactively anticipate, plan and meet future workforce needs.
  • Identifies risks and ensures quality assurance for all people processes and systems, liaising with management and other oversight bodies.
  • Support business processes mapping and elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in HR management.
  • Development and management of the rosters and candidates’ pool.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the marketing approach to recruitment and key initiatives related to PMO staffing.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in results-based project implementation and management.
  • Experience in managing teams and promoting their capacity development.
  • Prior experience with international development and/or non-profit organizations, and/or working in a start-up business environment is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, networking, and presentation skills (in English).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands in order to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education

First-level degree or equivalent in professional areas directly related to the project, such as environmental studies, development, programme management, or meteorology.

 

Language

Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is essential for this position.
