The Student's Society of McGill University (SSMU) is currently hiring. With over 20,000 members, SSMU's role is to represent students and to offer services since 1908.

Job Description

Volunteer Role:

Reporting to the Legislative Council, the Committee will be responsible for reviewing every Service  once every school year  to ensure that they meet the definition and mandatory characteristics of a Service as set out in the Internal Regulations of Student Groups and to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of students.

The Services Review Committee Member(s) at Large  shall:

a) review and make recommendations on the approval of applications for Service status; 

b) evaluate all Services during each academic year;

c) communicate the service review report to the services once completed as well as to the student body;

d) review and make recommendations for the approval of proposed changes to Service Constitutions;   

e) review and make recommendations on Policies relevant to Services; 

f) comply with all its other obligations as laid out in the Internal Regulations of Student Groups; and

g) review and make recommendations to the Services Review Committee’s terms of reference at the end of the year. 

Qualifications

  • Must be a Member of the Society

  • Knowledge of SSMU Services an asset

  • Knowledge of Community Involvement and Engagement an asset 

Additional Information

  • Volunteer position; 

  • Time Commitment: Average of 1-2 hours per week.

  • Bi-weekly meetings
