Job Description

The Environment Committee shall serve as a representative body for all environmental groups at the University, whether or not they are directly affiliated with the Society.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attend the meetings of the Environment Committee;

  2. Coordinate all the Society’s projects related to sustainability, including but not limited to:

    1. Initiatives within the William Shatner University Centre and other SSMU properties; 

    2. Project funding from third party sources;

    3. Participation in provincial, federal and international campaigns related to environmental sustainability;

    4. Communication with the McGill Office of Sustainability;

  3. Review and make recommendations to the Environment Committee’s terms of reference at the end of the year.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a Member of the Society;

  2. Campaigning experience an asset;

  3. Experience in organizing an asset;

  4. Experience with several clubs, events and projects on campus.
