Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the First Year Affairs Commissioner is to assist the Vice-President (Internal) run the First Year Council and help the councillors carry out their mandate.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Before council meetings and General Assemblies, prepare all necessary documents.
  2. Record minutes during council meetings.
  3. Finalize documents after council meetings.
  4. Chair the FYC in the absence of the Vice-President Internal
  5. General administration duties associated with the FYC and its councillors.
  6. Any other tasks as assigned by the Vice-President Internal

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

To undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice-President (Internal) from time to time.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED:

The First Year Affairs Commissioner receives general direction from the Vice-President (Internal).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Good communication skills in English and French an asset;
  2. Highly organized and strong attention to detail;
  3. Knowledge of the SSMU's Internal Regulations, Constitution, Policies & Plans and Committee Terms of Reference.

  • Paid position: $15.25
  • Contract dates: August 15th, 2023 to May 31st, 2024
