With over 20,000 members, SSMU’s role is to represent undergraduate students and to offer them services since 1908.

The Students from Care Project Assistant will work with the Vice-President (University Affairs) by organizing and archiving prior materials, lobbying and working with the University to implement a wrap around support program, and strategizing and outlining next steps on this dossier moving forward.       

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Organize and archive prior materials in order to consolidate information on current status with various stakeholders;

2. Work with the University to implement a wrap around support program;

3. Lobby for the hiring of a full time position at the University to begin building this program;  

4. Create a report outlining the next steps for continuing this work.

• Experience with research, report-writing, and presentation of findings; 
• Good organizational and planning skills; 
• Good knowledge or relevant experience in program and policy development; 
• Experience as a student coming from care is preferred.

• Paid position: $13.38 per hour;
• Hours: 35 total contract hours;
• Contract: July 30th, 2018 to August 31th, 2018;
