Junior Intraday Shift Trader
- Full-time
- Business Units: ME - Energy Management
Company Description
Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. With us, you will build a forward-looking career and contribute directly to the integration of renewable energy into the power system.
As part of the build-up of our Madrid 24/7 setup, we are looking for motivated early-career professionals who want to develop in intraday power trading and dispatch operations. You will join a structured learning environment, work alongside experienced traders and progressively take responsibility in live market operations.
Working in Energy Management:
Providing power efficiently and reliably is one of the core challenges of an energy system with increasing solar and wind generation. Our intraday trading teams execute day-to-day market activities and optimise Statkraft’s Origination activities and owned assets. Origination and Energy Management work closely together, combining commercial expertise with 24/7 optimisation capabilities across short-term markets.
The teams balance intermittent generation, dispatch flexible assets and use manual and automated trading solutions. We operate critical infrastructure and therefore combine commercial decision-making with safe, reliable and compliant operations.
What do we do?
Energy Management is responsible for balancing renewable generation, dispatching flexible assets and optimising positions across short-term power markets. Traders monitor forecasts and market movements, supervise automated applications, coordinate with internal stakeholders and asset operators, and take operational decisions around the clock.
Spain is a core growth market for Statkraft, combining large-scale renewable generation and storage with an integrated Markets and Origination platform. The Madrid team will support the continued development of Statkraft’s short-term trading and flexibility optimisation activities in Spain.
