Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Passionate about quality? NuORDER is seeking a talented, one-of-a-kind, Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This person will join a fast-growing development team applying web technologies to advance the fashion e-commerce industry. The ideal candidate will have a mix of analyst, development, and testing skills, and has proven ability to test SaaS oriented systems.

Specifically…

 

  • Work closely with product managers and developers in an agile environment. You like to be involved creating and reviewing requirements rather than given a formal document.
  • Help minimize, review, and isolate production defects. You have the ability to communicate with operations side of the business.
  • Log and write clear defect reports. You have attention to detail and have worked with tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Test web applications and IOS native apps, specifically iPad.
  • Create manual and automated test case suites for release, smoke, and regression testing.
  • Data validation for transaction, workflow, and reporting features.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

 

  • EDUCATION: BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
    • EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of experience testing within an agile and open source environment.
    • Familiar with MVC web frameworks. Experience in node.js/express is a plus.
    • Experience with Black-Box Testing cross-browsers and mobile devices. Creating functional, boundary, decision matrix, test cases, etc.
    • Experience with web/mobile debugging and inspection tools (Firebug, Fiddler, Charles, etc)
    • Experience writing documentation and compiling metrics (i.e. Test summaries and metric wrap-ups).
    • Experience with functional test automation in Selenium and/or Watir Webdriver.
    • Programming in a test capacity (Ruby, Python, etc.) to drive automation.
    • Experience with basic database queries (MongoDB is a plus).
    • Experience with project and defect tracking in a tool such as Jira.

Pluses

  • Testing in BDD or TDD frameworks (Cucumber, Robot, Fit, etc.).
  • Experience with testing REST APIs (manual or automated).
  • Grey/White-Box Testing.
  • Source Control (GIT).
  • iOS/iPad testing (Hardware and simulator).
