Our graduate programme aims to attract talent with strong technical knowledge who can become thought leaders and trusted advisors. We combine theoretical learning and practical experience, supported by rotations across the Insurance & Asset Management Technology business lifecycle. You will learn application and technology architecture processes such as analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and also gain exposure to operations, maintenance, and support of live production environments.

The Data Engineer role is central to building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports business insights and decision-making. The position focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure access to information across the organization.

Working within a modern technology ecosystem, the role engages with:

  • Big data platforms and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Databases (SQL and NoSQL such as Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • Data processing frameworks (Power BI, Python, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, MS Graph)
  • Automation and DevOps tools (Docker, GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Analytics and reporting tools that enable advanced insights and visualizations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be under 30 years of age
  • Maximum of two years work experience
  • Minimum of 65% average over all years of study
