We are looking for a hardworking, self-starter that has or is looking to gain experience and skills in the editing field. The Editor/Publisher Intern will be responsible for editing all aspects of the Utopia Living Brand’s online presence.  We are looking for an energetic intern who can work a flexible schedule of 10 hours a week who enjoys the behind the scenes work of the spa & wellness industry. We are seeking new hospitality clients and team members in major markets. We are willing to work with any level college student and professional in this area.

Please note this internship is NOT COMPENSATED.  However, there are many opportunities to receive excellent practical experience. The intern must be an effective communicator (both written and verbal) proficient in excel, web-based research, social media, and have a basic understanding of editing and the fundamentals of the editing process.  In addition to proofreading, editing, and creating new publishing ideas, this person will also work closely with the creative and technical teams to review and revise digital media with regard to the most appealing display. The internship may be extended.

Responsibilities:

• Help to gather existing written content , curriculum, quotes,  produced by the Company Founder and organize it in a manner in which the material can be presented in a blog series and or books.

• Read content and correct for errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar

• Rewrite copies, posts, letters, etc. to make them easier for readers to understand

• Verify facts using standard reference sources

• Evaluate submissions and decide what to publish

• Work with several departments to help their ideas succeed

• Plan the content of digital media and publications best suited for the company

• Develop posts and content ideas while being mindful of the audience

• Allocate space for the text, photos, and illustrations that make up the designs

• Approve final versions submitted by team members

• Creative/Corporate Writing experience

• Blogging Experience

• Exceptional writing and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Creativity and strong attention to detail

• Well-versed with social media outlets

• Well-versed with  Word Press

• Interest in the Health, Wellness, Lifestyle, Coaching  & Luxury Branding industries

• Successful candidates will have or are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Communications or a related field
