Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.
The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
Job Description
We are looking for SOC DevOps Engineer to join Sopra Steria Polska for a team that works for a client in the aerospace sector. You will work in an industrial, stable environment in multinational team (France, Poland, India) for a major aeronautical manufacturer. The program involves wide portfolio of applications developed by multiple teams in modern technologies, that e.g., support pilots, crew, and airline in planning the flights or various airport operations.
Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and have EU citizenship.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining, evolving, and scaling the tools that protect one of the world’s leading aerospace pioneers.
• Manage and enhance the core SOC infrastructure (GitLab pipelines, Splunk, custom Toolkit backends).
• Design and implement new features to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
• Act as a technical partner for external teams to translate operational needs into powerful automated solutions
• Maintain and optimize the existing framework (FastAPI, Python-based toolkit).
• Build and refine GitLab-CI pipelines to ensure seamless, secure deployments.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks in the current framework and propose modern architectural upgrades.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
Tech stack on the project:
• Kubernetes, AWS, Python, API, GitLab.
Qualifications
Must have requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as DevOps or similar role.
• Software Engineering experience with Python, FastAPI, SQLModel, Celery, Alembic.
• Strong experience with GitLab & GitLab-CI (pipeline automation).
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes (k8s).
• Proficiency in IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and GitOps workflows.
• Team player, problem-solver, and comfortable interacting with stakeholders.
• EU citizenship.
• Fluent English: B2/C1.
• Being open to occasional business trips abroad and visits in our office in Katowice.
Nice to have requirements:
• Experience in Cyber Security.
Working hours: You will work business hours + on-call rotation.

The recruitment process for this position consists of two stages:
• a short phone call with a recruiter (30 min max)
• one-hour long interview on Teams (with both general and technical questions)
Salary range:
UOP: 15 000 -22 000 PLN gross/month.
B2B: 135-180/190 PLN/h net + vat.
