Job Description
1. Role overview
This role combines two complementary dimensions of supplier quality: quality during the project/development phase and quality during mass production. The objective is to ensure that suppliers deliver compliant components, on time and with sustainable performance throughout the full product life cycle.
2. Proposed mission
Ensure the development, validation, transfer and continuous performance of processes and components supplied by external suppliers, securing Quality, Cost, Delivery and Technical objectives from project phase through to mass production.
3. Main responsibilities
- Define and implement supplier process development, ensuring compliance with the QCDT scenarios agreed with project and purchasing teams.
- Lead the definition and validation of supplier product/process qualification plans.
- Ensure the transfer of supplier projects to mass production, securing the handover of information, risks, requirements and technical knowledge to industrial teams.
- Analyze, manage and ensure the effective handling of supplier claims.
- Drive continuous improvement actions to enhance overall supplier performance, with a focus on medium-term objectives.
- Conduct process and capacity audits at suppliers.
- Follow up on annual qualifications of supplier production processes.
- Initiate supplier performance escalation processes, in collaboration with purchasing, when required.
- Ensure the relevance of incoming inspection instructions across Group sites.
4. Performance indicators
- Compliance with project milestones and QCDT phase transitions.
- Response time to secure purchased components.
- Supplier Success Index.
- Number of supplier claims during development and production.
- Supplier PPM.
- Number of recurring quality issues.
- Supplier response time.
5. Target recruitment profile
The ideal profile is a Supplier Quality professional with cross-functional experience between product/process development and mass production. The person should be able to act both preventively, during projects and industrialization, and correctively, during the series life of components, with a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications
Essential requirements
- Higher education degree in Engineering, Quality, Production, Industrialization or a related field.
- Experience in supplier quality, project quality, production quality, industrialization or technical purchasing.
- Knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to conduct process audits and assess supplier production capacity.
- Experience in an industrial environment and regular interaction with suppliers.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Valued skills and experience
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier development and industrialization.
- Ability to manage international suppliers and influence internal stakeholders.
- Experience in claims management, PPM indicators and supplier improvement plans.
- Autonomy, rigor, negotiation skills and results orientation.
6. Main interfaces
The role will interact regularly with Suppliers, Purchasing, Production, Project Managers, Technical Design, Methods, Industrialization, Metrology, Laboratory and Quality teams. It is a highly cross-functional coordination role, requiring strong communication with technical, operational and purchasing stakeholders.
