Job Description
As Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across Canada. Working in both English and French, you will handle a wide range of payroll functions, from data entry and calculations to liaising with external partners and responding to internal inquiries. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to confidentiality, and a solid understanding of federal and provincial payroll legislation. You'll also support reporting, government requests, and continuous process improvements, helping to ensure a smooth and compliant payroll experience for all employees.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Process payroll for all units across Canada, including:
Entering updates in ADP, CAP, and UKG
Calculating and processing garnishments, deductions, and payroll adjustments
Preparing Records of Employment (ROEs) in coordination with ADP
Completing EFTs and issuing manual cheques
Handling stop payments, recalls, rejected deposits, and traces
Managing union reporting and dues payments
Run reports in ADP, CAP, and UKG for internal and external requests
Liaise with third-party stakeholders, including government agencies, ADP (payroll provider), and other relevant organizations
Respond to wage verification and other formal requests from Service Canada
Investigate and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and management, ensuring clear and consistent interpretation of policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial payroll legislation
Maintain strict confidentiality in handling employee and payroll information
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to payroll processes and systems
Adhere to all internal company policies and procedures
Qualifications
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum 3 years of payroll experience
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) required
PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is an asset
Experience processing Quebec payroll is an asset
Familiarity with ADP GlobalView is an asset
Experience with UKG Pro WFM is an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (able to create and manipulate spreadsheets)
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and consistent follow-up
Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated customer service mindset
Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with interruptions
