The GIS Developer should be experienced in the design, modification,
development, and implementation of software programming applications.
Additionally this talented GIS Developer must know how to perform unit
testing, have experience with participation in code review and system
test processes through code and test review, and analysis and
remediation of code review and test defects.
Additional responsibilities include;
- Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software.
- Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
- Research, unit test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on customer requirements.
- Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
- Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
- Consult with project team and end users to identify application requirements.
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Participate in development of software user manuals.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 5 + years of experience with ArcGIS Desktop NET (ASP.NET; C#).
- 1+ year experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and ArcGIS geoprocessing tools including scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, VBA) and relation database tools (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Demonstrated understanding of GIS concepts, imagery interpretation and spatial data.
- Knowledge of Geospatial standards
- Programming skills to convert data formats, automate map production, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work within time constraints.
- Exceptional design and development skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent problem-solving, verbal/written communication, design, development, and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently/in groups to effectively participate in the software development lifecycle
- Bachelors in computer science, geography, GIS, MIS, or related field

This is a contract opportunity. Expected duration is 6-12 months and could possibly extend 24 months/2 yrs
