Bouchier is comprised primarily of Bouchier Contracting Ltd. and Bouchier Site Services Ltd., with its Head Office based in Fort McKay, Alberta and the Administrative Hub based in Fort McMurray. We are an Aboriginal owned and operated company that currently employs a workforce of more than 800 individuals.

In operation since 1998, we provide a variety of services to the Athabasca Oil Sands Region and have a presence on many of the major Oil Sands Mine Sites. Bouchier is one of the leading First Nations companies within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo that provides construction, maintenance, and general site services.

Job Description

This role provides leadership and direction to the contract team in order to continually improve, safe operational delivery. The role is responsible for assessing performance, aligning objectives and developing the contract team to ensure effective and efficient contract delivery. individual success and effective succession planning by ensuring that the right people are in the right roles. Accountable for the P & L, operational management and delivery of all services delivered across 1-2 sites / contracts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and foster relationships with the customer in the area by ensuring that HSE, Reliability, Delivery and Financial requirements are being met
  • Maintain a competent, trained and properly staffed team. Ensure effective succession planning by ensuring that the right people are in the right roles. 
  • Provide ongoing support and expertise to all reporting staff and assist key people in establishing goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and direction to all key people reporting directly to this position, as well as to their employees
  • Assist with site strategic planning and budgeting, including cost savings
  • Ensure the works are delivered according to the established quality control standards.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a superior working environment and provide additional safeguards for the safety of all employees and customers
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the company in conjunction with the Director of Operations
  • Meet regularly with corporate leadership to review current policies and procedures to ensure Bouchier is compliant
  • Ensure that effective working relationships are established within the organized structure of the company by providing the necessary checks and balances that will identify and correct discrepancies in operations or communications
  • Ensure continual open communication and strong working relationships are maintained with clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Degree/PMP Certificate or minimum 5 years experience is perferrable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering; an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered; or a Minimum of 7 years experience in Oil and Gas Field Services
  • Minimum 3-5 years Management Experience in the oil sands industry
  • Class 5 Driver's License minimum
  • Experience in contractor coordination in a heavy construction environment
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to produce timely and high quality documentation
  • Proven teamwork environment skills
  • Proven estimating and Civil Engineering/Construction experience will be an asset
  • Applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
