Job Description

 The Project Controls Lead will be responsible for providing a complete planning and scheduling service to both project and senior management within Bouchier for all project and any proposal activities with regard to, enabling Project Management to control the progress of contracts by identifying and producing integrated schedules of work, monitoring performance against plans, identifying problem areas and other effects, minimizing company risk by identifying the critical path enabling resource planning and leveling by appropriate resource analysis of the contract, enable control of the progress of procurement by producing schedules for all materials and equipment, updating regularly and analyzing the implications of updates. Updating and monitoring of Project Plans for integration within monthly applications for payment, Preparation of as-built schedules. Schedule submissions for requests for extension of time/claims. Supervision of sub-contractor schedules, completing company standard reports and procedures for quality control.

 

Candidates should have a degree in engineering or possess a combination of relevant experience/qualifications for this position. Excellent people skills, good spoken and written English. Knowledge of PRIMAVERA and Microsoft office suite and at least 5-10 years’ experience in Petrochemical or similar industries.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  •        Perform planning and scheduling activities and deliver required output in accordance with project requirements.
  •          Prepare and maintain cost and schedule baselines.
  •          Facilitate development and implementation of Project Work Breakdown Structures.
  •          Establish/Set up progress measurement reports and project schedules.
  •          Analyze actual cost and progress data to determine current trends versus baseline.
  •         Prepare S-curves, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate project status and forecast requirements for Project Management and clients.
  •          Proactively perform risk analyses and sampling of critical areas.
  •          Forecast cost, progress, performance and schedule trends to provide client / project management with information for decision making.
  •          Provide input to progress report reviews to interpret and inform client, project management and discipline leads. 
  •          May provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to discipline leads in the resolution of planning and scheduling issues.
  •          Provide input to the collection of lessons learnt from various projects.

 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  •          Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering technology from a recognized post secondary institution or in lieu of education we will also consider highly experienced individuals.
  •         Proficient use of Primavera P6.
  •          Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining EPC schedules.
  •          5 to 10 years of demonstrated project controls experience on multi-discipline EPC and or construction projects. 
  •          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  •          Ability to think logically and critically and solve problems.
  •          Willingness to take responsibility.
  •          Ability to make important decisions.
  • ·         Ability to handle stressful situations and frequent deadlines.
