Job Description
The Global Compensation and Benefits Manager is responsible for implementing, managing and continuously improving our compensation and benefits programs - supporting our employees and our goal to provide transparency to our practices. The individual will be responsible for developing the framework and strategy behind our compensation & benefits philosophy, in addition to overseeing the day-to-day analysis, execution, and communication of global pay and benefits.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of global market dynamics, compensation and benefit plan designs, and have experience engaging, motivating, developing and retaining employees while maintaining internal equity and external market competitiveness. The right person is adept at implementing programs, driving process improvement, effective at communicating complex information, can maintain a high level of ownership and accountability, and can demonstrate success in working in a high-growth, evolving technology company.
What you’ll deliver:
Working closely with the SVP, People to propose, roll-out and maintain global compensation philosophy, including base salary, incentives, equity, merit, and other applicable programs that are competitive in the marketplace and support recruitment, engagement, and talent retention
Plan and manage competitive market pay studies for our global locations, partnering with the People team to understand regional needs
Manage survey industry trends which includes completing compensation and benefit surveys to forecast trends and assist with future designs
Assign proper grades to roles using compensation tools and resources
Partner with Finance to manage pay administration, commission and incentive payouts and accruals
Serve as project manager for complex compensation and benefits projects, and subject matter expert for compensation and benefits systems and tools—including but not limited to strategies and programs that foster employee understanding and appreciation for the value of company total rewards
Own and administer the benefit open enrollment process, which includes plan development, selection of benefits, coordination of employee open enrollment meetings, employee census data, renewing ancillary benefit products, employee communication and collateral
Assist with preparation of materials for the Board of Directors
Partner with external consultants/vendors to analyze and evaluate plan renewals for cost effectiveness, negotiate for improved services and offerings to maintain SmartRecruiters competitive position
Manage relationships with key external consultants/vendors
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; guide team members on routine audits to ensure benefits are administered consistently and qualified under applicable tax codes if applicable.
Keep up to date on federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations, and informed of industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
Proven experience conducting global pay market analysis, design, and implementation of global compensation and benefit programs in a multinational environment
Equity compensation knowledge and experience required
Certified Compensation Professional Certification (CCP and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Certification (CEBS) highly desired
Familiarity with labor legislation in US, Canada, and EMEA (primarily Poland, Germany, UK, and France); ideal exposure to other geographies including Australia
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; proven ability to research, follow up and resolve complex issues
Highly organized with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and project manage a workload with competing priorities
Strong ability to communicate effectively with employees across all organizational levels and geographies and provide business-focused insight based on data and benchmarks
