Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding Product Manager to join our team at Smartr - our candidate-focused, B2C platform. In this role, you will have an opportunity to shape the product from an early stage by working together with product leadership and marketing. We’re looking for an individual who is used to quick iteration; is enthused about tech, design, and the idea of making hiring simpler and giving power in the hands of candidates to shape their career journey. 

You’re someone who enjoys balancing somewhat competing priorities, thinks strategically and builds tactically, and has the ability to solve user problems and deliver results in a measurable way. You love intuitive designs, empathizing with real user problems, and always look to have data and metrics as your best ally in conversations with stakeholders. You understand the value of incremental changes, but also appreciate that start-ups create many products and features from scratch. You love the opportunities of carrying out exploratory research for that together with your team.

We offer remote work in one of our hubs (Germany, Poland, France, the UK, and the Netherlands). You can be based in one of those countries and work fully remotely with occasional trips to meet your team.

In this role you’ll:

  • Own WHAT and WHY of product on basis of data and user insights
  • Question user behavior, and analyze data to find answers; Complement data with usability studies to find answers and generally place users at the center of our product development process
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and new features; Take data-driven decisions on priorities leading to product execution
  • Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers, designers, and analysts, leading ideation and giving visual, analytical, and user input
  • Pitch ideas to senior stakeholders, manage their expectations, and keep everyone informed;  Share a compelling narrative about what problems our products solve, for whom, and how they are solved. 
  • Motivate the development team, creating urgency and excitement about what we do
  • Establish quarterly objectives and track performance metrics aligned to overall business goals
  • Focus on implementing small, rapid experiments and learn from them to iterate and make a measurable impact on key product & business metrics
  • All standard PM responsibilities like managing day to day product planning & delivery, maintaining a groomed backlog, communication, documenting product requirements, etc apply
  • Constantly evolve processes and team practices to improve quality and speed of delivery

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with impactful results in an ed-tech, marketplace, content streaming, or community environment
  • Proven experience creating data-backed hypotheses for testing measurable customer experience improvements and building user engagement/ retention
  • Strong knowledge of appropriate product performance metrics, and background in data-driven decision making
  • Ability to break large projects (or ideas) into manageable pieces, prioritizing according to value
  • Strong intellect backed by good product instincts; Willingness to challenge status-quo basis insights and data (when missing at least sound logical arguments!)
  • Product management experience within an in-house development environment, being comfortable communicating with engineers and designers on an everyday basis
  • Experience with Analytics tools like Mixpanel/ GA/ Amplitude; Experience running A/B tests (or any other way to demonstrate iterative development)
  • Excellent understanding of customer-centric user experience best practices
  • Experience with SaaS/ HR Tech and experience with startup/ scale-up companies are desirable
  • Excellent communicator - able to clearly present your work, explain your thinking, and discuss decisions confidently at all levels
  • You are aware that you do not know everything, not afraid to admit it, and are willing to learn (or unlearn, where needed)
