Job Description

As a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator, your role is a particularly impactful and central role on our People team, and will work closely with our HR Business Partners.  In this position, you will enhance the employee experience by providing rave-worthy customer service, while supporting HR projects and initiatives.  

Your passionate, empathetic, forward-thinking, and can-do attitude will help our Smartians (what we call our employees) feel informed and supported, leading to a positive and greater connection to our company purpose. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal and organizational skills.  

As a remote-first organization, this role can be based anywhere in the US.

What you’ll deliver: 

  • Human Resources policy and process administration for Smartians primarily located in the US, Canada, and Australia.
  • Employment documentation for our Smartians - employment contracts, promotion letters, employment verifications, etc.
  • Audit HR programs and processes, recommend improvements, and support or lead implementation.
  • Strong partnerships with HRBPs, Onboarding, Payroll, and other teams to ensure a successful offer to onboarding experience for all candidates. 
  • Professional, tactful, and diplomatic communication at all times, treating all with dignity and respect. Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • First-line HR support to employees; answer general employee questions related to policies/policy interpretation, payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Uniform HR support and customer service through strong collaboration with peers, clients and colleagues
  • Create and maintain employee records 
  • Communicate all employment changes to HRIS & Payroll directly through the system or manually, depending on the circumstance (process promotions, departures, and other staffing changes)
  • Ad-hoc reporting, special projects, and programs as requested

Qualifications

  • 2 plus years of experience in a professional office environment; preferably as a Human Resources Assistant or Coordinator.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and organization skills. 
  • Project management experience, with the ability to respond to changing priorities, and enjoyment of a fast-paced, work environment.
  • Ability to work across time zones to support assigned clients primarily located across the US, Canada, and Australia.
