Job Description

This newly created role, you will report to the Head of Integrated Talent Management and be responsible for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the compensation experiences for SmartRecruiters including but not limited to base salaries, variable and incentive pay, and equity programs. You will lead the compensation function working closely with other People and functional leaders to ensure our compensation strategy and experiences support our organizational business objectives, meet our global compliance requirements and deliver value and equity across our workforce.

To be successful, you should have comprehensive knowledge and application of compensation and benefits best practices in a rapidly scaling, high-growth organization and be recognized as an expert in your field. You will strategically lead and provide direction to the compensation and benefits team and serve as a consultative partner with leaders across the organization. This includes defining and overseeing the necessary dependent projects needed to reach the overall goals of the program(s).

You may sit anywhere in North America and work remotely. 

What you’ll deliver: 

  • Manage the ideation, creation, implementation, and administration of global total cash rewards programs.
  • Lead competitive market research to establish total reward systems which include comprehensive benefit offerings, pay practices, and salary/incentive structures that attract, motivate and retain employees.
  • ​​Demonstrate strong strategic planning and incorporate business strategy, short and long-term financial goals, market trends, employee and market insights in the development and delivery of benefit and compensation programs, policies, and plans that result in supporting the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Leverage exceptional project leadership skills with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and in-depth analytical capabilities. 
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are SmartRecruiters’ organizational objectives.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and coaching to functional leaders, HRBPs, and the organization on pay decisions, program interpretations, and job evaluations, with end-user experience and scalability in mind.
  • Lead the development and implementation of redefining the job architecture and leveling of global roles.
  • Develop a nature of a collaborative and high-performing team, focused on driving operational excellence.
  • Participate in project work and other duties as assigned.
  • Understand how compensation programs may impact/be impacted by other initiatives and work with internal partners (e.g. HRBPs, Hiring Success, Org Effectiveness, Finance, Legal, etc.) on mitigation plans as needed.

Qualifications

Capabilities, Experience, and Skill Set

  • Exercise solid project leadership skills combined with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and in-depth analytical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, provincial, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation across the globe.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Google products, including Sheets.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.

Experience and Expertise

  • Expertise in financial analysis, statistical analysis, and modeling is required.
  • Experience building, leading, and working with teams spanning multiple geographies.
  • Industry savvy, up to date, and energized by current and future industry compensation trends.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities is essential.
  • Must be able to influence, problem solve, and successfully collaborate and communicate with clients on various levels.
  • Experience in a compensation management role for a public company and previous engagement with a Board of Directors and Compensation Committee.
  • Track record of regular interaction with senior-level executives and driving company-wide initiatives.
