Job Description
We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join our Candidate Quality team within Artificial Intelligence & Platform Services (AIPS). You’ll help us understand whether our candidate-quality models are performing as intended, how they contribute to marketplace outcomes and where better data and insight can improve product decisions.
You’ll own core data models, metrics and reporting, evaluate model performance, and partner with Product and Data Science to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Analytics Manager, Agentic Hiring. It’s based in Melbourne and works closely with Product, Data Science, Engineering and business stakeholders across SEEK.
Your analysis will help teams understand what “good” looks like in a complex marketplace, improve the quality of candidate recommendations and make better decisions for both candidates and hirers.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse candidate-quality model performance, drivers and marketplace outcomes, and turn findings into actionable insights.
- Partner with Product and business leads to frame problems, test hypotheses and inform product direction.
- Build, test, document and maintain reliable data transformations using SQL, dbt and Git-based workflows.
- Create and improve Tableau dashboards and reporting products.
- Evaluate model outputs, measures, limitations and real-world hiring outcomes.
- Design or support A/B tests, analyse results and recommend product actions.
- Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and improve the definitions and practices the team relies on.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a data analytics role delivering business, product or customer outcomes.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, including data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Experience building and maintaining robust data models with complex datasets.
- Experience using dbt and Git, or equivalent version-controlled development practices.
- Knowledge of machine learning or statistical concepts, experimentation and model evaluation.
- Experience building Tableau dashboards or comparable business intelligence products.
- Structured problem-solving and strong analytical reasoning skills.

The Candidate Quality team uses data, product insight and data science to help SEEK create better connections between candidates and hirers. We work across the candidate and hirer experiences to understand what contributes to quality in the marketplace and identify practical ways to improve it.
