Job Description
As our Senior Payroll Consultant, you'll be the engine behind seamless, accurate and compliant payroll delivery for all of SEEK ANZ. You'll work as a key member of our People Operations, Systems, and Insights team, reporting to the Manager, Payroll & HRC alongside approximately 10 passionate professionals across Payroll and HR Coordination functions.
You will manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring every pay cycle is delivered on time and with precision. You will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Finance Business Partners, Leaders and SEEKers to keep our payroll practices best in class.
Beyond the day-to-day, you'll drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance the experience for our people. You will keep SEEK ahead of legislative changes, contribute to payroll governance and help build the guides and processes that keep our team running smoothly. Success in this role looks like a payroll function that runs with accuracy, integrity and a great employee experience at its heart.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring delivery of SEEK payrolls including data entry, processing, checking, delivery, accuracy and compliance
- Ensure all payroll processing, related information and records are maintained in accordance with internal SEEK Policies as well as statutory requirements
- Manual calculations and reconciliations (i.e. terminations, leave reconciliations, workcover and salary continuance etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring EOM/EOY/other reporting & payroll activities (i.e. annual salary review, salary continuance reporting, ABS, reconciliations, payroll tax, 3rd party payments etc) are completed as required
- Work with the HR Coordinators to ensure successful completion of workday integrations
- Maintaining pay records, employee records and files, leave records and related information
- Ensuring data accuracy within payroll and downstream/upstream systems
- Proactively keeping abreast of and updating leader and team of; legislation (i.e. employment, tax, super, payroll related, security, privacy, data), industry requirements and best practice
- Consult with Leader to create/update detailed payroll guidelines, procedures, and processes that are easy to find and use. Proactively inform and train other team members
Qualifications
- 8+ years of end-to-end payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work autonomously, managing your own workload with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate payroll outcomes
- Experience with Workday and/or Ramco preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and compliance requirements
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational capabilities
- Exposure to payroll system implementations or process improvement projects
