The Campus Security Manager partners with Senior Leadership and management teams to help drive operational effectiveness, superior performance, and audit readiness.

Job Description

The Campus Security Manager will report directly to the Regional Account Manager and work closely with the Branch Management Team and Site Security Leads. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety of one of the world’s largest global organisations, conducting patrols, carrying out searches, administering passes, and consistently delivering exceptional customer service to both our client and their employees.

In collaboration with the onsite security management within your Area of Responsibility (AOR), the Campus Security Manager will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the security team and the security environment. You will ensure the effective delivery of operational services by fully overseeing, and delegating, various duties, which include but are not limited to:

  • Manages physical security operations at multiple critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Actively manages site security personnel; partners with the local Branch to recruit and hire, oversee onboarding, training, and development at the sites.
  • Ensures each staff member is treated with dignity and respect.
  • Oversees site security systems to ensure safe and compliant operation of the facility.
  • Plans, assigns, and manages physical security projects and tasks to timely completion.
  • Coaches security employees and carries out disciplinary actions in accordance with current policy.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of site security operations and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilises excellent customer service and communication skills, sets the example and holds site security staff accountable to do the same.
  • Ensures site health and key performance indicator goals are met or exceeded; works with the Regional Account Manager (RAM) to enhance security team effectiveness and performance.
  • Meets regularly with the client and Securitas corporate management representatives for account reviews, addresses issues in a timely manner, and supports security planning, assessments, and surveys.
  • Keeps management informed of major accomplishments, issues and concerns.
  • Follows standardised procedures to successfully complete unannounced audits.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Ability to work with integrity whilst unsupervised
  • Knowledge of access control software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong general IT ability
  • Strong organisation, communication and organisation skills
  • Proactive approach to all activities
  • Experience managing teams within the corporate security sector
  • Experience in HR activities (recruitment, disciplinary procedures, delivering training, developing teams, etc.)
  • Experience reporting key metrics to internal and external stakeholder
  • Must be able to successfully complete the Company’s 5 year pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
  • 4 years of experience in the security industry.
  • 4 years of management experience
  • Datacentre experience

Additional Information

Desirable:

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand additional languages
  • Flexible availability
  • Hold a valid SIA Licence.
  • Working knowledge and experience with various security technologies including CCTV, access control systems, incident management software, and other video surveillance software.
  • Security industry qualifications or certifications such as CPP or PSP.
  • Able to work evening or weekend hours when required, such as during an emergency event or crisis
