Demand Planner
- Contract
Company Description
Outdoor adventure connects and strengthens us
That's what we believe at Sea to Summit. For more than 35 years we've been designing gear that helps people adventure with confidence. From ultralight sleeping mats trusted on Everest expeditions to dry bags built for Kimberley kayak crossings. Headquartered in Perth, we're a global outdoor brand with operations across Australia, China, the US, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden, and our gear is sold in more than 60 countries.
We're looking for a Demand Planner to join our Sales & Operations team for a 12-month parental leave contract. If you love the rigour of forecasting and want to put your skills behind a brand that genuinely makes things people love using, we'd like to hear from you.
Job Description
You'll own the demand forecast that supports our supply chain in delivering for Sea to Summit customers and our Distributed Brands portfolio across Australia. You'll be the analytical lead for our S&OP process - reviewing trends, refining models 6-12 months out, and working closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations to land forecasts we can rely on.
A typical week might involve:
- Building and refining the demand plan across multiple time horizons and aggregation levels
- Leading the monthly Demand Review and contributing to the broader S&OP cycle
- Digging into forecast accuracy and bias to find the next improvement
- Partnering with Sales and Marketing on new product launches, range reviews and phase-outs
- Reconciling variances, surfacing risks early, and helping the business make better decisions
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in logistics, supply chain or a related analytical discipline
- Demonstrated experience in demand or supply planning (typically around 5 years), ideally in FMCG or a comparable consumer goods environment
- Advanced Excel skills and a high degree of comfort working with data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clearly and credibly with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations
- Solid problem-solving instincts and the willingness to test assumptions when the data points a different way
- A current passport (some international travel may be required)
Additional Information
- 12-month parental leave contract
- Hybrid working from our Perth HQ in Rivervale
- A genuinely good team, in a business where people enjoy the work and the people they work with
- Generous staff discount on the gear (and the gear is good)
- The chance to be part of a global outdoor brand that's growing internationally while keeping its roots in Perth
A note on the contract
This is a parental leave cover with a defined 12-month term. We've structured it that way because we're holding the role for the current incumbent's return. We'll be upfront about that from the start, and we'll treat you well throughout the contract.
Sea to Summit is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and lived experiences. If you need any adjustments to the recruitment process, let us know and we'll work with you.
