**This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S., provided there is easy access to a major airport.
WHAT WE ARE HIRING
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth of our smart pole solutions in North America. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the sales of advanced urban infrastructure solutions that go beyond traditional lighting, focusing on our connected "Smart Pole" technology. Our smart pole solutions focus heavily on security technologies to ensure safer environments in a variety of applications (Higher education, healthcare, corporate campuses, mixed use developments, cities and municipalities, entertainment venues, etc).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the expansion of our smart pole solutions across North America.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and sales processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including security integrators, channel partners, architects, contractors and end customers.
- Collaborate with global teams to align on strategy and leverage resources.
- Educate potential clients on cutting-edge technology features – data collection, connectivity, and enhanced public safety, which will drive solution-focused discussions.
- Achieve sales targets through consultative selling and strong client relationships.
- Execute a strong existing pipeline of business
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A true entrepreneur with a strong technical acumen with expertise in building out sales channels.
- An experienced sales leader with a proven track record in solution selling preferably in the security integration space.
- Track record of success selling into higher education is considered a huge plus.
- Deep understanding of the public and private sector ecosystems.
- Strategic thinker who can translate customer needs into tailored solutions.
- A passion for educating customers on new technology solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and ideally located near a major metropolitan airport.
KEY PERSONALITY TRAITS
- Intrinsically motivated and entrepreneurial mindset.
- A self-starter who has a bias for action and takes initiative; willingness to roll up your sleeves and figure it out when the answer is not clear.
- Strong learning orientation with a constant inclination to learn new material and finding solutions to solve customers’ unmet needs.
- Ability to recognize patterns, analyze situations and see the bigger picture providing the opportunity to enlarge the scope of discussions and thus sell entire projects.
- Propensity to work as part of a team; cooperative and participative in group projects (a necessity for the hybrid offerings of Schréder).
- Open minded; prone to seek out and engage in new ideas, procedures, techniques, and experiences.
- Consultative sales background with focus on solution selling with a customizable product.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of successful end user business to business sales experience
- Clear track record of building out new sales channels successfully
- Clearly demonstrable solution selling skills
- Experienced in technically complex applications and longer sales cycles
- Target markets: higher education, healthcare, mixed use developments, corporate campuses
- Past experience in security integration industry highly preferred
