Business Process Consultant - Consumption Taskforce Project (1year full time)

  • Full-time

Job Description

What you’ll build

As a critical part of SAP's cloud transformation, the CPIT Order-to-Invoice (O2I) Business Process Management team drives the end-to-end design, standardization, and execution of SAP's core commercial processes. We sit at the intersection of Finance, IT, and the business — shaping how SAP charges and invoices customers for its cloud portfolio.

The Consumption Taskforce is a team that works in various areas. It aims to improve SAP's commercial models related to consumption. This includes metering, charging, billing, and revenue recognition. As SAP accelerates its shift toward flexible, usage-based pricing, this taskforce is at the heart of that transformation.

The role is part of the Business Process Management (BPM) department. This department designs, manages, and improves SAP's Order-to-Invoice processes. They oversee these processes from start to finish. This organization offers a great learning environment. A solid knowledge of O2I processes is important. These processes include order entry, fulfillment, invoicing, and revenue recognition. Having this knowledge will provide a valuable foundation. It may also lead to more task opportunities within the department in the future.

In this role you will work directly alongside the Project Manager, supporting the day-to-day operational rhythm of the taskforce and ensuring alignment across a wide network of senior stakeholders in Finance, IT, and commercial business functions.

- Project administration support includes keeping project documents up to date. You will track milestones and prepare status reports. You will also create meeting materials for senior stakeholders.

- Action item tracking — own the log of open decisions and next steps across workstreams; follow up proactively with owners to ensure timely closure.

- Stakeholder communication - Draft and share updates on projects. Write meeting minutes and prepare briefing materials. Coordinate communication between Finance, IT, and business units.

- meeting coordination - Organize and lead regular taskforce meetings. Capture decisions and send structured follow-ups.

- Collaboration space management — structure and maintain the project workspace in MS SharePoint / MS Teams; ensure documentation is current and accessible.

- Cross-functional alignment support — assist in coordinating across GFS Finance, SAP IT, and Shared Service Centers to keep workstreams in sync.

What you bring:

Required

· University degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Economics, Communications, or a related field.

· Fluent in English (written and spoken) — German is a plus.

· Proficient in Microsoft 365: Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

You should communicate well and take initiative. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that involves multiple teams.

· Analytical and process-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have

· First professional experience in project coordination, PMO, or business analysis.

· Familiarity with SAP business processes or cloud product portfolio.

· Knowledge of Order-to-Invoice (O2I) or adjacent Finance/Commercial processes.

· Experience with project management methodologies (e.g. SAP Activate, Agile).

· Hands-on experience using AI tools — such as generative AI assistants, AI-powered productivity tools, or automation platforms — to improve day-to-day work efficiency.

· Software, coding, or technical background (e.g. scripting, data analysis, system configuration) — a strong advantage for engaging with metering, charging, and billing topics at a technical level.

Where you belong:

This role offers exceptional exposure to SAP's strategic cloud transformation:

· Deep understanding of consumption-based commercial models and how SAP is evolving from subscription to usage-based pricing.

· Technical insights into metering, charging, and billing — the systems and processes behind how SAP measures and invoices cloud consumption.

· Solid grounding in Order-to-Invoice end-to-end business processes within a global BPM organization — knowledge that is directly transferable and may qualify you for broader task assignments within the department.

· Broad visibility across the SAP organization — collaboration with Finance, IT, Sales Operations, and senior stakeholders across regions.

· Hands-on experience in a high-profile, cross-functional strategic initiative with direct business impact.
