Job Description
We're looking for a talented Firmware Engineering Intern to join our team in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, you will work alongside experienced firmware engineers to develop, test, and optimize embedded systems software. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to apply your technical knowledge to real-world projects while gaining hands-on experience in firmware development and embedded systems design.
- Develop and write firmware code in C/C++ for microcontroller-based applications
- Assist in designing, implementing, and testing embedded software solutions
- Debug firmware issues using appropriate debugging tools and techniques
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
- Review and interpret technical documentation, datasheets, and design specifications
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and best practices
- Document firmware functionality, design decisions, and testing procedures
- Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges
- Contribute to the optimization of firmware performance and memory efficiency
Qualifications
**Required Skills and Experience:**
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages
- Solid understanding of microcontroller and embedded systems fundamentals
- Knowledge of hardware-software integration concepts and principles
- Familiarity with debugging tools and debugging techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and work with technical documentation and datasheets
- Organized approach to work with attention to detail
- Understanding of software development best practices and coding standards
- Basic knowledge of software testing and quality assurance principles
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code with proper documentation
**Preferred Skills and Experience:**
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M processors or similar microcontroller architectures
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
- Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Understanding of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, or I2C
- Previous internship, academic project, or professional experience in embedded systems or firmware development
- Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), compilers, and debugging software
- Familiarity with firmware testing methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles
- Experience with agile development methodologies or collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with continuous integration and build automation tools
- Understanding of software documentation practices and technical writing
