Job Description

Within the Global Sustainability department, the Environmental Impact Senior Specialist contributes to defining and implementing the sustainability data strategy and environmental impact policy of the brand’s Sustainability program.

You will work across the board in close collaboration with all Salomon Business Units and Support functions as well as with Amer Sports teams. This role also includes the supervision of the Sustainability Tools & Data team.

Key Objectives:

  • Drive sustainability data management program
  • Drive environmental impact management program
  • Represent sustainability tools & data topics in Salomon & Amer Sports sustainability governances
  • Lead Salomon Sustainability Tools & Data team within Salomon Global Sustainability Department

Main Responsibilities:

1. Sustainability Data Management

  • Responsible for the production, collection, and monitoring of the brand’s environmental data related to our products and activities on an annual and seasonal basis.
  • Provides this data to internal stakeholders (brand and group sustainability teams, product teams, etc.).
  • Monitors environmental data to feed the brand’s sustainability performance dashboards.
  • Key activities for the period:
    • Manage the Sustainability Tools & Data program (facilitate bi-weekly working groups, maintain the roadmap, track progress of strategic projects, etc.).
    • Manage the Sustainability Data Management strategy aiming to develop Salomon maturity on this matter.
    • Run S2 2026 sustainability data collections, ensuring all data collections follow existing processes.
    • Prepare and run 2027 sustainability data collections, ensuring compliance with established processes.
    • Manage retailers’ sustainability data request process.

2. Environmental Impact Measurement

Leads the delivery of the brand’s environmental impact measurement.

  • Co-develops and maintains the brand’s environmental impact measurement tools, in collaboration with Product departments, the IT department, and external suppliers.
  • Supports Product teams across all Brand Business Divisions in the integration and operational use of the environmental impact measurement tool, working closely with external suppliers and internal product team relays.
  • Tracks the progress of product Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and, when needed, contributes directly to the execution of LCAs for departments.
  • Key activities for the period:
    • Manage the implementation project of the product environmental impact measurement tool (Glimpact) within Hardgoods (Winter Sports) categories.
    • Support the run phase of Glimpact for Footwear (FTW), Apparel, and Bags.
    • Support extended manual LCAs (hardgoods and softgoods).
    • Conduct regulatory watch on data and impact measurement methodologies.
    • Participate in the Monthly Ecodesign Working Group.
    • Manage the implementation of environmental labeling.

3. Representation in Sustainability Governance

  • Serve as the single point of contact for sustainability data at Salomon.
  • Act as the Sustainability Tools & Data Lead within the Salomon Sustainability Leadership team.
  • Act as the Salomon representative for sustainability data & tools topics within the Amer Sports Climate Working Group, contributing to group‑level standards and best practices, and ensuring effective two‑way alignment between Amer Sports requirements and Salomon implementation.

4. Sustainability Tools & Data Team Supervision

  • Supervise and mentor a small team of direct reports.
  • Support capability building and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in sustainability data and tools management in a similar role, ideally within the fashion or outdoor industry.
  • You have experience in sustainability data and impact management, including LCA, environmental reporting, and impact measurement tools.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis and numerical rigor, combined with a solid understanding of sustainability principles and sector-specific challenges in fashion and outdoor industries.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education: You have bachelor’s or master’s degree (4–5 years of higher education) from an Engineering School, or a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies, Ecodesign, or Materials with a sustainability specialization.
  • Languages: Fluent in both French and English.
